The ports of the Atlantic Space can become into “laboratories” digitized of renewable energy, preparing to supply clean electricity to ships and their concessionaires, and to facilitate connection and testing of prototypes of these energies, taking advantage of local resources and proximity to the sea.
ENEPORTS proposes three demonstration pilots in the ports of Ferrol, Granadilla (Tenerife) and Leixões (Oporto) to examine how digitalization and AI can contribute to the efficient management of energy flows; and will study new decarbonization strategies using hydrogen and a device that combines energy generation from waves, currents, solar and wind.
ENEPORTS will address administrative requirements, potential economic, social and environmental impacts; and technological challenges of operating hybrid systems with different sources and variable energy demands, with a focus on their orderly deployment.
