Located in the north-east of the province of Lugo, in the municipalities of Cervo and Xove, the port of San Cibrao serves as a support to the industrial activity of the ALCOA factory, concessionaires of its administrative management.

The port of San Cibrao is located on the Lugo Coast, the stretch of Cantabrian coast that lies between the Cabo de Bares and Ribadeo, a locality that marks the border with the Principality of Asturias. The port and the industrial complex of the same name lie between Punta de Morás and Cabo de San Cibrao, in a section of the coast open to the Cantabrian sea, very different from the calmness of the Rias of Ortigueira or Viveiro, which lie very close to the port.
